Review - Hercules

Sit and watch a movie with a former wrestler and the manufacturer of the X-Men Director: The Last Stand and Rush Hour 3, there are certain expectations. The one can hope for is perhaps a film that does not silly and stupid. A stupid movie could be a lot of intrinsic stupidity, but has a degree of self-confidence and exuberance that corresponds fun kitsch. Unfortunately, Hercules is more stupid than a stupid movie.

With an opening cheerfully jumps through the famous sights of the legend of Hercules, this is the story of a world weary and half-god, banished from Athens and take on the use of mercenaries to earn money. This is a decision more on the classical myth is based, suggesting that the legendary exploits of Hercules are exaggerations and embellishments of the prosaic truth. With the support of a diverse group of warriors; consisting of a doctor Spartan (Sewell); Wild soldier (Aksel Hennie); Amazon archer with a striking resemblance to Nicole Kidman (Berdal); Annoying nephew of Hercules (Reece Ritchie), and Ian McShane as Friar Tuck turbulent channel and drunk; Hercules took the position of formation of army-Thrace, in the name of the Lord Cotys John Hurt. This is a very interesting concept, playing with the concept of myth and heroism, but this is not discussed in depth in all, the film tries its cake and eat it, the elimination of the characters in his large apartment, but by the core group and capable as men are Greco Avengers.

In the middle of it all is that Dwayne Johnson (he had the name of the rock at the moment), the eponymous hero. Obviously it is important for this role under inflated, resulting in something that looks more like a wall with a human face. He is tall, imposing and lead a questionable wig and beard stick. Stoic plays tortured hero who is deprived of his natural charisma; reduced to a rushing piece of meat and let all the jokes and humor McShane and Sewell. It's a shame, great Dwayne (in the role of the right) can be a magnetic presence, but the Hercules is a huge hole, so that a gap in the middle of the film much of its running time.

The direction of Brett Ratner carefully several important pieces, the main battle never impressed with the setting. There is a lack of talent and style in performance and scenes deal only through its conclusion. Besides the presentation of pedestrians violence is light and without a sense of order; Despite the intensity of the noise battles deaf, is one of those movies in which the characters chop each other happy, but no one seems to bleed.

A lost opportunity to inject some fresh in Greek mythology, Hercules is not the ridiculous romp expected nor bold reinterpretation that he wants to be. Ho-hum Hercules.

Review - The Purge: Anarchy "

In the near future dystopian America, there is one night a year when all crimes are legal. Apply for Government faceless victims of this year sequence is said to relieve the tension in the country, and national crime and unemployment statistics at a low level in the rest of the year, people are willing to tolerate. Who to steal, rape and murder on the street wants, and encouraged "unleash the beast." Everyone will be better advised to remain tight and purge block house. Anarchy, after last year reached the purge of the same basic principle of a period of anarchy 12 hours, but the flesh a little, the expansion of scope beyond opaque derivative voltage and burglary of the first film with an action on the streets of lawless savages.

A single, anonymous Badass tools and takes to the streets in an armored sports car. With a half-day window, you have the perfect opportunity to call for a mysterious bloody revenge. A unique and militant teenage daughter locked his mother's small apartment doors. A young couple struggle breakthrough at the worst possible time in the worst possible place. In the film, these different people are tied together in the streets, where they fight their way to safety. With outrageously costumed bands roaming wickedness and violence around a number of variables fabric reminiscent of Walter Hill warriors and Escape From New York John Carpenter, but rough edges smoothed these films.

Oscillating in the central role of the tough guy gun is, Frank Grillo by far the best that can be displayed. Concise and violent, which brings something disinfects a variety of Level 70-15 certification procedure ancient grain. Is evil and cunning and led to a lot more interesting than any other character on the screen; Grillo takes the reins and ran with the film.

With the moving story of the streets and the introduction of a variety of characters, drain: Anarchy developed in the beginning of the first core of the film While only served to paint the class conflict in the heart of the film in white. and black, this result complicates things to show a little opportunism and greed, which followed the massacre legally sanctioned.

Unfortunately, while much higher than its predecessor, the film is in many of the same risks as hindered the efforts in the last year divided. It is very predictable, full of stereotypes, and is therefore not particularly surprising and frightening; Masked repeated blows, threatens to be in slow motion, the innocent civilians, so overused as adjacent parody. In the same part of the camera work is hectic, leading to some entertaining fragile-cam is a bit of a chore. It's a shame, because if the camera moves to a standstill, the filmmaker Jacques Jouffret is capable of a shot visually appealing and capture well-framed.

As the film progresses, the insertion of new stories and ideas begins, a little rust flushing was too narrow focus and focuses on a family in a place where anarchy has the opposite problem; the story begins with more action points (of which feels like bait) overload until it collapses under the weight of everything. Rationalize For so grateful masses film as Carrie and the Warriors Movie This is particularly strange. , After the soft purge and derivatives coil, however, is a step forward in quality. If the series keeps getting better and then Purge 3: Big Rammy can be really good.

Review - Chef "

Jon Favreau - Indie favorite of the late 90s - has made much of the last decade of his directorial work in well but spent stifle creative successes as Zathura, Iron Man and Cowboys & Aliens now but to his roots, he returned on a budget. head, the story of many executives who when he opened a food truck quiet after years of working in an unimaginative but well-financed restaurant finds its mojo. See what I did there?

After a damning report by the food critics Food Michel Ramsey (Oliver Platt channel sounding name fool headmasterly and Peter O'Toole Ratatouille Anton Ego behavior) Director: Carl Casper suffers a crisis of confidence. Deeply affected by the catastrophic Reviews Carl tries to answer through social media, is an internet meme kick and go hurt accordingly. With a career that has been neglected your child to the fragments at the lowest found. It was at this time that his super friendly and understanding of his ex-wife (Vergara) and super friendly, and the first man helps it in a food truck to revive his passion for cooking again, and maybe connect worshiped with son.

Likewise, Favreau seems obsessed with Twitter and this is the power to communicate with people and to promote interest. It can be a bit much, especially if the tweets of the people on the screen before flying as a small logo of Twitter.

However, as the head starts to move away from head (biness) eating and social networks and the people and singing, a great story and well observed reconnect father and son begins to emerge to move. Eleven years Emjay Anthony is a great actor and son of Carl Percy, a pious child, but often disappointed by his father. Favreau, a big friendly bear of a man with a wink and a simple charm, is a wonderfully friendly presence on the screen. As a writer, director and star Favreau warmth and charisma permeates almost every aspect of the head, which means that in spite of his almost evangelical presentation of Twitter and the absence of any actual conflict of interest remains a captivating clock. As a bed for a tuxedo, the head is light, but very tasty, if a little nutritional value Crowdpleaser.

Edinburgh Festival 2014 Closing Ceremony - "We'll never have Paris

Last curtain of the International Edinburgh Film Festival this year was the first game Simon Helberg, NEVER Paris A whiny and neurotic study how to fuck a successful relationship. Perhaps never in Paris, but something tells me I would not want Paris.

Written, directed and performed by The Big Bang Theory "s Helberg, never Paris" fantasy plot revolves around Quinn (Helberg) - A 20 bit cumbersome hypochondriac who decided his long-suffering girlfriend to marry little Devon (Up in the Air Melanie Lynskey ), bottles immediately if they show an apparently more attractive (a blonde bimbo with an appreciation of their masculinity and desire to offer presented.) Following the advice of his only best friend, Jameson (Love carries FREE bracelet / Poncho Zachery Quinto), it was decided to take the time for the ten-year relationship for the rest of unrealistically attractive women in his life. Inevitably, he regretted his decision soon and - in the largest typical Hollywood lifestyle - jump the next flight to Paris to continue Devon and confusing concept for true love.

While there are clear influences from Woody Allen, early Helberg not capture the New York neurotic Jewish man with something close to calligraphy or Allen charm. While logic dictates that the filmmakers definitely meet women at some point in their lives (co-director Jocelyn Towne as one, with several co-stars Helberg - this is not a work of Shakespeare, you know) and the absurdly humiliating in the women never behave Have Paris suggest otherwise. Despite the best efforts Helberg obsessive whining, crying and generally irritating to the length somehow the consecration to the heinous character escapes his - "understand" his girlfriend wander freely the streets of Paris, rather than argue with him that honor. Other women that Paris is never not much better, though; Beautiful bimbo stalking him everywhere and barks a night also defy belief. The soundtrack of "French" originally adorable, soon begins (like the rest of the functions of the film) rust and although it is responsible, lost several highly respected actors in roles and stereotypes that often spoils. Dana Ivey, in particular, very little is used in the role of grandmother French Devon - overused as puppets by his few short scenes.

With an end that defies human logic, we will never have to leave Paris, the kind of bad taste that is not erased even the best Bordeaux. The only other option would be French plonk and hope against hope that alcohol not be followed by a comma similar repetitive scenes of male neurosis.

When I went looking for a balance to all the negativity that I had come across, I was able to dig up many positive testimonials from those within the industry. Moving Data to a New Hard Drive in an Emergency

Yesterday I had to change my hard drive and had a few issues that I was able to fix.
The problems started in the morning when my wife called me and told me that the computer would not boot. We have been having trouble with our hard drive for a while now and I was able to fix each time by just reseting the PC. This time though the computer was not seeing the hard drive. Using tools and knowledge that I had I had to do the following:
Install new hard drive
First of all I had to install the new hard drive. I was able to do this by disconnecting my CDR and leaving myDVD drive, two old hard drives in the machine, plus a new 80 gig drive with a 16 meg cache. I was unsuccessful at loading Windows though as I kept getting an error as the Windows setup was starting, after loading the drivers I would get an error that it could not load the setup. I switched to my CDR from the DVD drive and had no problems.
Setup Windows
I successfully did a quick format of the new drive (thanks for that new feature Windows XP) and successfully loaded Windows XP although now I have my operating system on the E drive.
Rebuild hard drive partition table
After I booted to Windows I saw that my old drive was not showing up as a drive or a partition. If I reight clicked on the partition in disk Management it knew that the drive existed but could no longer find a partition on it. Windows Disk Management said that the drive was healthy, My first attempt was to create a partition but not to format the partition as I did not want to lose the data for good. I fought with this for a couple of hours as I did not back up lately and the wife would kill me if I lost all of her data. In the end I was able to use Test Disk from the Filesystem tools of the Dos Ultimate Boot Disk. It ends up that the partition table had a start but not an end and the program was able to fix this....whew I would have been in trouble....
Migrate Windows and Office data
After I had the old drive back I went into the BIOS and chose to boot from that drive. I was able to boot to the old Windows XP installation easily enough and did not want to keep any of the data there but thought it would be a good idea to transfer my Windows settings using the file and settings transfer wizard in Windows. I saved the settings using the wizard and chose this as the old computer and in the destination I chose a folder I created on the new hard drive called "transfer files". I then decided to transfer only my settings as I knew that I was going to have to reload my software and would be manually copying over the file structure from the old drive to the new drive.
I also moved all of my settings for MS Office using the Save my settings wizard from the MS Office 2003 tools section. I was able to copy the settings, which come across as an OPS file to the same place as my Windows Transfer Files and Settings.
After I had moved the settings and files over I rebooted and went back into the BIOS and changed my first boot to the new hard drive and it's windows XP installation. I was very happy to see that after running the wizrds for transferring the settings and after reloading MS Office 2003 I was able to move over my mail folder and saw all of my email, contacts, and best of all my email addresses (Still had to fill in the passwords for email but that's OK). After a relogon I also had all of my desktop settings back includig the background picture of my daughter and the animated Pingu cursors.
Copy data from bad drive
Next I just did a blanket move of all of the files from the old hard drive to new into a new folder that I created in the root of the drive. I did this simply to save time as I am not sure about the stability of the old hard drive and fear that I will lose it again.
Reload software
I have started reloading software but as usual I am going to be slow about the move this time. I will install some of my favorite freewares and will install Streets and Trips, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop Elements and that's it.
I have roughly followed about half of my Reloading Windows tutorial but since I have both drives functioning at the moment I have tried to cut some corners and make this work well as well as getting my wife up and running quickly for her work stuff this morning.

Review - Belle '

Issues of race seems to be on film, at least in fashion this season. Back in 2012, Daniel Day Lewis managed personally slavery ^{of the 19th} century in the United States with his winning performance an Oscar in Lincoln. Help this feeling of alienation and discomfort is wonderfully creepy score for Newton Brothers. The right balance between comedy and drama, a knife away from flirting with disaster, especially when the topic of depression and suicide. American independent director Craig Johnson, fortunately, good talent on his side for his third film The Skeleton Twins, some savvy casting and a script of mind makes it a pleasure for the unexpected public.

After Milo (Hader) has attempted suicide, her twin sister Maggie (Wiig) invites him to stay at home with her husband Lance (Wilson). But as brothers, they begin to discover the comfort of their shared past and their relationship begins to slowly heal as they find solace in each other's company.

There is a subtlety here that, as entertaining as it was friendly, the Playbook might be a little lacking. This is mainly due to the fantastic performances, especially Hader and Wiig, whose hit comedy chops to serve them well (they have great chemistry), but are also better able to deal with the drama. Hader in particular shines as a slightly manic gay brother who constantly judge others, but are reluctant to be seen whether judge. Heartbreaking and hilarious, poignant and inspiring; Twins skeleton is sure to be a highlight of the festival to be. If you are not able to catch up this weekend, then you certainly need when general release to see.

Director David Gordon Green was back to his indie roots. Known for films and fraternity silly stoner Pineapple Express and as the years Sitter, Prince Avalanche last year proved to be an intelligent comedy drama. Now even more comedy away by t 1991 adaptation of the novel by Larry Joe Brown; a dark history of southern parent and child.

Joe (Nicolas Cage) is a former inmate who leads a lonely little forest enterprise. After Gary teenager (Tye Sheridan) has him looking for work, Joe finds himself acting as a surrogate father and mentor, and his boss. More about the life and family of Gary, in particular violent alcoholic stepfather as Joe finds himself unable to not intervene, although the effects revealed.

These stories of poor rural rural America has become common, and were held in varying degrees of success. Bones and mud of winter are two excellent examples of sub-genres, and while Joe everything, what not to do, in fact, to one of these tracks is always still much to admire. No less important is performance; Cage is unusually sober and are more measured and influence throughout the year. Sheridan also stands out here, as it has done in the mud above, and the first player Gary Poulter is excellent as his alcoholic father (unfortunately also died during post-production).

Issues of masculinity and the possible transfer of power that goes with care of parental relationships treated, but it feels a little overloaded at times. Some of the undesirable elements of certain characters are exaggerated caricatures, and often the story lines feel a little forced and nose. This recognition is not too much of what is usually to take a sober and blatantly dark piece.

Dinner: a staple of the cinematic offering. A group of wealthy, well-read 30-year-olds sitting around a table beautifully set dining room, wine thirst and warm up their personal dramas. It is a scene almost every viewer knows and to be honest, it's more of a cliché. Therefore, the best way to mix things up as the host of the dinner said the same night that a rare comet, a power and a short mix of alternate realities?

If a comet lights up the sky over the more mundane and Mike Lee, start dinner, strange things happen. Pretty good, but the consistency of James Ward Byrkit loses his shit - at least not immediately. With phone lines and lights, approach the group only candles and find the nearest bottle opener. It is only when they leave the house, take things take a turn for the worse.

It is a rare filmmaker who can focus his film properly (death / cat in an unopened carton) succinctly with a single line and on the premise of a theoretical dilemma like Schrödinger's cat, but this is exactly what Byrkit succeeded consistency. gently set the script to the latest fantasy roles (Nicholas Brendon Buffy the Vampire Slayer "star to cultivate in the face" in fact at the time), Byrkit managed land is also a confusing matter. The zombie film is a well-worn formula and no exaggeration to say that the market is a bit saturated late. Director Jeff Baena first made a name before the co-author David O Russell screwball comedy I Heart Huckabees, and hopes for his own brand of humor into the subgenre of horror bring now.

The story begins after the recently deceased Bet (square), which is part of a deadly snake bite while hiking nearby. My friend Zach (DeHaan) is struggling to cope with frequent visits to see her father (Reilly) acts as a therapy of sorts. However, the period of mourning is even more chaotic when Beth comes back to the family home, as if nothing would happen, and his enthusiasm for his return soon turns sour when gradually it becomes clear that he is dead - live.

It is clear from the outset that this is the first film Baena, unfortunately; Direction is neglected and should be fun gags fall flat as a result. The script itself is sufficient to induce some spiritual laughter, but where such hit films as zom-com Shaun of the Dead had an effective social commentary, your mood, feels Beth more like a series of successes and failures sequences with little depth. There are some good performances on display here: DeHaan Reilly and rise above the mismanagement and bring laughs more regularly, but others struggle to get a proper understanding of the material.

Some people get a kick out of life to Bet offbeat sense of humor, but for most it is a bit of a mess aimlessly. This is perhaps the overexposure of the zombie finally starting to run out, and begs the question, how ironic life is in this formula undead left.
