Review - Hercules

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Ingrid Berdal Bag

Sit and watch a movie with a former wrestler and the manufacturer of the X-Men Director: The Last Stand and Rush Hour 3, there are certain expectations. The one can hope for is perhaps a film that does not silly and stupid. A stupid movie could be a lot of intrinsic stupidity, but has a degree of self-confidence and exuberance that corresponds fun kitsch. Unfortunately, Hercules is more stupid than a stupid movie.

With an opening cheerfully jumps through the famous sights of the legend of Hercules, this is the story of a world weary and half-god, banished from Athens and take on the use of mercenaries to earn money. This is a decision more on the classical myth is based, suggesting that the legendary exploits of Hercules are exaggerations and embellishments of the prosaic truth. With the support of a diverse group of warriors; consisting of a doctor Spartan (Sewell); Wild soldier (Aksel Hennie); Amazon archer with a striking resemblance to Nicole Kidman (Berdal); Annoying nephew of Hercules (Reece Ritchie), and Ian McShane as Friar Tuck turbulent channel and drunk; Hercules took the position of formation of army-Thrace, in the name of the Lord Cotys John Hurt. This is a very interesting concept, playing with the concept of myth and heroism, but this is not discussed in depth in all, the film tries its cake and eat it, the elimination of the characters in his large apartment, but by the core group and capable as men are Greco Avengers.

In the middle of it all is that Dwayne Johnson (he had the name of the rock at the moment), the eponymous hero. Obviously it is important for this role under inflated, resulting in something that looks more like a wall with a human face. He is tall, imposing and lead a questionable wig and beard stick. Stoic plays tortured hero who is deprived of his natural charisma; reduced to a rushing piece of meat and let all the jokes and humor McShane and Sewell. It's a shame, great Dwayne (in the role of the right) can be a magnetic presence, but the Hercules is a huge hole, so that a gap in the middle of the film much of its running time.

Big, buff but boring.
Big, buff but boring.

The direction of Brett Ratner carefully several important pieces, the main battle never impressed with the setting. There is a lack of talent and style in performance and scenes deal only through its conclusion. Besides the presentation of pedestrians violence is light and without a sense of order; Despite the intensity of the noise battles deaf, is one of those movies in which the characters chop each other happy, but no one seems to bleed.

A lost opportunity to inject some fresh in Greek mythology, Hercules is not the ridiculous romp expected nor bold reinterpretation that he wants to be. Ho-hum Hercules.

In the near future dystopian America, there is one night a year when all crimes are legal. Apply for Government faceless victims of this year sequence is said to relieve the tension in the country, and national crime and unemployment statistics at a low level in the rest of the year, people are willing to tolerate. Who to steal, rape and murder on the street wants, and encouraged "unleash the beast." Everyone will be better advised to remain tight and purge block house. Anarchy, after last year reached the purge of the same basic principle of a period of anarchy 12 hours, but the flesh a little, the expansion of scope beyond opaque derivative voltage and burglary of the first film with an action on the streets of lawless savages.

A single, anonymous Badass tools and takes to the streets in an armored sports car. With a half-day window, you have the perfect opportunity to call for a mysterious bloody revenge. A unique and militant teenage daughter locked his mother's small apartment doors. A young couple struggle breakthrough at the worst possible time in the worst possible place. In the film, these different people are tied together in the streets, where they fight their way to safety. With outrageously costumed bands roaming wickedness and violence around a number of variables fabric reminiscent of Walter Hill warriors and Escape From New York John Carpenter, but rough edges smoothed these films.

Oscillating in the central role of the tough guy gun is, Frank Grillo by far the best that can be displayed. Concise and violent, which brings something disinfects a variety of Level 70-15 certification procedure ancient grain. Is evil and cunning and led to a lot more interesting than any other character on the screen; Grillo takes the reins and ran with the film.

Frank Grillo. Even his name seems difficult.
Frank Grillo. Even his name seems difficult.

With the moving story of the streets and the introduction of a variety of characters, drain: Anarchy developed in the beginning of the first core of the film While only served to paint the class conflict in the heart of the film in white. and black, this result complicates things to show a little opportunism and greed, which followed the massacre legally sanctioned.

Unfortunately, while much higher than its predecessor, the film is in many of the same risks as hindered the efforts in the last year divided. It is very predictable, full of stereotypes, and is therefore not particularly surprising and frightening; Masked repeated blows, threatens to be in slow motion, the innocent civilians, so overused as adjacent parody. In the same part of the camera work is hectic, leading to some entertaining fragile-cam is a bit of a chore. It's a shame, because if the camera moves to a standstill, the filmmaker Jacques Jouffret is capable of a shot visually appealing and capture well-framed.

. As the film progresses, the insertion of new stories and ideas begins, a little rust flushing was too narrow focus and focuses on a family in a place where anarchy has the opposite problem; the story begins with more action points (of which feels like bait) overload until it collapses under the weight of everything. Rationalize For so grateful masses film as Carrie and the Warriors Movie This is particularly strange. , After the soft purge and derivatives coil, however, is a step forward in quality. If the series keeps getting better and then Purge 3: Big Rammy can be really good.

This is food porn at it's hardcore, and like all the porn that feels too long and its festishisation. Edinburgh Festival 2014 Closing Ceremony - "We'll never have Paris

Address: Simon Helberg / Jocelyn Towne
Starring: Simon Helbergh, Melanie Lynskey, Maggie Grace, Zachary Quinto
Time: 95 minutes

Last curtain of the International Edinburgh Film Festival this year was the first game Simon Helberg, NEVER Paris A whiny and neurotic study how to fuck a successful relationship. Perhaps never in Paris, but something tells me I would not want Paris.

Written, directed and performed by The Big Bang Theory "s Helberg, never Paris" fantasy plot revolves around Quinn (Helberg) - A 20 bit cumbersome hypochondriac who decided his long-suffering girlfriend to marry little Devon (Up in the Air Melanie Lynskey ), bottles immediately if they show an apparently more attractive (a blonde bimbo with an appreciation of their masculinity and desire to offer presented.) Following the advice of his only best friend, Jameson (Love carries FREE bracelet / Poncho Zachery Quinto), it was decided to take the time for the ten-year relationship for the rest of unrealistically attractive women in his life. Inevitably, he regretted his decision soon and - in the largest typical Hollywood lifestyle - jump the next flight to Paris to continue Devon and confusing concept for true love.

While there are clear influences from Woody Allen, early Helberg not capture the New York neurotic Jewish man with something close to calligraphy or Allen charm. While logic dictates that the filmmakers definitely meet women at some point in their lives (co-director Jocelyn Towne as one, with several co-stars Helberg - this is not a work of Shakespeare, you know) and the absurdly humiliating in the women never behave Have Paris suggest otherwise. Despite the best efforts Helberg obsessive whining, crying and generally irritating to the length somehow the consecration to the heinous character escapes his - "understand" his girlfriend wander freely the streets of Paris, rather than argue with him that honor. Other women that Paris is never not much better, though; Beautiful bimbo stalking him everywhere and barks a night also defy belief. And that does not mean that most men do not also a problem with the representation of the XY chromosomes filmmakers also.

The soundtrack of "French" originally adorable, soon begins (like the rest of the functions of the film) rust and although it is responsible, lost several highly respected actors in roles and stereotypes that often spoils. Dana Ivey, in particular, very little is used in the role of grandmother French Devon - overused as puppets by his few short scenes.

With an end that defies human logic, we will never have to leave Paris, the kind of bad taste that is not erased even the best Bordeaux. The only other option would be French plonk and hope against hope that alcohol not be followed by a comma similar repetitive scenes of male neurosis.

Balloon Fun - How You Can Use Them to Decorate Your Party

One thing which is necessary in making birthday parties exciting are the involvement of party decors. The other crucial supplements which make your party a completely enjoyable occasion are balloons, banners and streamers. You can maximize the use of these supplementary elements by offering them as part of party favors even though you have to incur some extra expenditure.
Interestingly inflatable birthday party centerpieces are not commonly in practice. Actually they are creatively arranged balloons as a center of attraction for every participating guest. Adjust such balloons on flower standees or set them in the roof portion but ensure that arrangement is done systematically or problems may arise. Such balloons look more attractive when filled with helium gas and bunched up together. Such arrangement is better to keep them rise from the floor towards sky which makes them enchanting. You can adjust them on middle portion of birthday cake which offers better look.
Decorate your venue as per your choice. Birthday party centerpieces are in the limelight for their role in illuminating parties as supporting force and best party favor items for the guests taking them home. The choice is entirely yours to use printed latex balloons. Make sure that final output is worth noticed by everybody.
Change your inflatable birthday party centerpiece into an actual work of artistry. Involve following tips to fruition it:
1. Have balloons of different colour schemes and use them accordingly. It is entirely your choice to make fusion of colour combination or decorate them in the combination of shades. Keep it in mind that creating wonder doesn't require having balloons of each shade and combination. Keeping them artistically matters the most.
2. Always have creative and themed arrangement of balloons by designing words or a particular name. Don't bother much if you are not able to make such arrangement. Rather, go for simple designs including stripes or circles. You should arrange black and white balloons with stripes of same colour combination or black circle with white center. Design name or logo through applying creativity.
3. Adjust balloons on the margin of specific height. Keep hanging them at unequal elevation. This arrangement creates illusive atmosphere in which the number of balloons looks more than the actual number. You get praised for applying such artistic caliber.
4. Select best color combination of balloons which matches with overall theme of your party. Do you think silver balloons can be better choice for Hawaiian luau birthday parties? Of course they are not. It will be suitable choice for those parties being arranged in Christmas theme. Choose printed latex balloons with specially printed message.
It's time you focus on professionalism. How will it look when you much smaller centerpieces? It will look vague. When you choose bigger ones they attract the onlookers. Give opportunity to your guests to enjoy best movement everywhere inside the venue. It is always better to plan humongous piece of work in outdoor areas.
Often it becomes tough to put normal balloons together for having unique impression. Don't just bow down to such uneasy situation and go for ready made inflatable birthday party centerpieces instead to avoid that situation. There are several choices of ready made balloons which come in different size and shape that you can have.
These are perfect for children birthday parties where Barney, Big Bird or Pingu is on the cake and can be poked, prodded and tapped to their hearts content. Just remember to tell the kids that Barney is not meant to be bitten, eaten or shoved into the mouth at any point in time (to avoid this, just remove the centerpiece after candle-blowing and photography session).
Customizing party decor is really an easiest method along with printed latex balloons. Banners are not required in them and you have the choice to use coloured balloons of numerous varieties if you really have choice for that. Make them more seething by selecting some coloured balloons to be filled with helium gas and mingle them with the rest. This arrangement will provide an opportunity for them to float on the ceilings. It will give amazing impact in the suitable lighting hence the mood of your party will transform entirely. Arrange to have strings attached with balloons so that your guests enjoy catching them.

Franchise English Schools

English teachers who are tired of working for the man can now own their own business. English school franchises are growing in popularity and being self employed myself I can only say that I am pleased to see this new business sector growing. Owning your own business is not for all teachers, however, for those who really want to shed the yolk of employment and take responsibility for their own financial future this may well be the way to go. From what I can tell, the opportunities and rewards within this system have yet to reach their full potential. This means that the room for growth is relatively healthy according to market research and current trends.
I first heard of this growth market whilst having lunch with a friend who had just completed two years of working within an English school franchise in Japan. He enjoyed the environment a great deal and was happy to speak at length about his experience. He'd started off on the same track as me and done his research, being able to successfully test the waters of the franchise operations in Japan before diving right into the main stream of things. He seemed to have grown as a person as well because he surrounded himself well with an air of confidence and humility that were the signs of a man who had experienced something worthwhile.
Feeling enthusiastic and encouraged by my friend's positive story of adventure and success, I decided to do a little research on the Internet. I was surprised to find just how many English school franchise opportunities there are these days. Some of the names that were easy to find were; Smith's School of English (loads of positive testimonials as well as negative comments on this firm), Pingus (very popularly associated with the Pingu or penguin character), Shanes, Saxon Court, English First. If you run a search on just about any search engine, these schools rank fairly high at the top. That just goes to show you how popular this kind of business is nowadays. Everyone wants in on the action.
During my research I did manage to stumble upon quite a lot of nasty comments about the English school franchise system in general. In addition to that, I was shocked to realize just how much energy is being spent on maintaining negative blogs and even entire web sites devoted to debunking just about every English school in existence. This leads me to worry a little about the maturity of the people working within the industry but then again I guess that is just a part of any business these days. The Internet provides a virtually uncontrollable platform for these disgruntled few to say a whole lot. Then again, there are a select few people who are looking to make a quick buck and aren't able to fully integrate themselves within the English school franchise system. Before you can start turning a profit, you have to establish a base and build your franchise up so that it reflects the popularity and success of existing schools in the system. For anyone who isn't so keen on the extra work or time and nurturing needed to really bring your school to the level that it deserves to be at, this might not be the most desirable career choice for you. Knowing exactly what kind of work you wish to involve yourself in and steering clear of fields that don't interest you are very important for avoiding disappointment.
When I went looking for a balance to all the negativity that I had come across, I was able to dig up many positive testimonials from those within the industry. There is an abundance of information being provided by both the franchisers and the franchisees that will make your venture a lot more lucrative should you wisely follow it. I also contacted some of those people who had nice things to say and with their permission have included some excerpts from their testimonials within this article.

Moving Data to a New Hard Drive in an Emergency

Yesterday I had to change my hard drive and had a few issues that I was able to fix.
The problems started in the morning when my wife called me and told me that the computer would not boot. We have been having trouble with our hard drive for a while now and I was able to fix each time by just reseting the PC. This time though the computer was not seeing the hard drive. Using tools and knowledge that I had I had to do the following:
Install new hard drive
First of all I had to install the new hard drive. I was able to do this by disconnecting my CDR and leaving myDVD drive, two old hard drives in the machine, plus a new 80 gig drive with a 16 meg cache. I was unsuccessful at loading Windows though as I kept getting an error as the Windows setup was starting, after loading the drivers I would get an error that it could not load the setup. I switched to my CDR from the DVD drive and had no problems.
Setup Windows
I successfully did a quick format of the new drive (thanks for that new feature Windows XP) and successfully loaded Windows XP although now I have my operating system on the E drive.
Rebuild hard drive partition table
After I booted to Windows I saw that my old drive was not showing up as a drive or a partition. If I reight clicked on the partition in disk Management it knew that the drive existed but could no longer find a partition on it. Windows Disk Management said that the drive was healthy, My first attempt was to create a partition but not to format the partition as I did not want to lose the data for good. I fought with this for a couple of hours as I did not back up lately and the wife would kill me if I lost all of her data. In the end I was able to use Test Disk from the Filesystem tools of the Dos Ultimate Boot Disk. It ends up that the partition table had a start but not an end and the program was able to fix this....whew I would have been in trouble....
Migrate Windows and Office data
After I had the old drive back I went into the BIOS and chose to boot from that drive. I was able to boot to the old Windows XP installation easily enough and did not want to keep any of the data there but thought it would be a good idea to transfer my Windows settings using the file and settings transfer wizard in Windows. I saved the settings using the wizard and chose this as the old computer and in the destination I chose a folder I created on the new hard drive called "transfer files". I then decided to transfer only my settings as I knew that I was going to have to reload my software and would be manually copying over the file structure from the old drive to the new drive.
I also moved all of my settings for MS Office using the Save my settings wizard from the MS Office 2003 tools section. I was able to copy the settings, which come across as an OPS file to the same place as my Windows Transfer Files and Settings.
After I had moved the settings and files over I rebooted and went back into the BIOS and changed my first boot to the new hard drive and it's windows XP installation. I was very happy to see that after running the wizrds for transferring the settings and after reloading MS Office 2003 I was able to move over my mail folder and saw all of my email, contacts, and best of all my email addresses (Still had to fill in the passwords for email but that's OK). After a relogon I also had all of my desktop settings back includig the background picture of my daughter and the animated Pingu cursors.
Copy data from bad drive
Next I just did a blanket move of all of the files from the old hard drive to new into a new folder that I created in the root of the drive. I did this simply to save time as I am not sure about the stability of the old hard drive and fear that I will lose it again.
Reload software
I have started reloading software but as usual I am going to be slow about the move this time. I will install some of my favorite freewares and will install Streets and Trips, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop Elements and that's it.
I have roughly followed about half of my Reloading Windows tutorial but since I have both drives functioning at the moment I have tried to cut some corners and make this work well as well as getting my wife up and running quickly for her work stuff this morning.

Glow in the Dark Necklaces: Useful for Kids?

It's most common to see young adults, or at least teenagers, indulging in 'glowsticking' dancing (dancing while waving a glow stick in the air) or wearing glow in the dark necklaces or bracelets on a night out. However, various versions of the glow stick technology are also used in many products for children, who are also enchanted by the bright luminescence of glow sticks.
Glow sticks have spread in popularity all over the world, and can now be seen at any big open air event, from Guy Fawkes' Night to Chinese New Year. They're sold at these events so that revelers can have fun 'glowsticking;' or using them as jewellery; but also because they're a great way to keep track of people. Children in particular can often be monitored by getting them to wear brightly-coloured glow in the dark necklaces or bracelets. In dark, crowded situations, it greatly reduces a parent's inevitable worry to keep their kids visible; and with their reliable bright light and low cost, there's no better way to do this than with glow sticks. What makes them even better is the fact that, for most kids, glow in the dark jewellery or toys are a magical special treat!
Now, there are many more options for children's glow in the dark equipment. One of the most obvious is the possibility of buying multiple-use LED glow sticks, which can be turned on and off, and taken to many different events. So children can celebrate with them on Halloween and Guy Fawkes' Night, play with them at Christmas, and still have their glow sticks ready to use to see in the New Year!
And if your child likes ordinary glow sticks, and glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets, you can go a step further and get customized glow in the dark torches. These use the same technology as glow necklaces and bracelets, but come in lots of different exciting shapes for kids to have fun with: from Father Christmas to Pingu. Even keeping kids safe in the dark - whether they're at an outdoor event, riding their bikes or walking home in the evening - can be fun, with the development of head torches and special glow in the dark shapes which are motion sensitive, and can be stuck to children's clothes to shine when they move. These also come in lots of fun shapes - one of the most popular is the Lego man! - ensuring that keeping track of your children is fun for them, not a chore for you. If these seem too complicated or fiddly, you can go down the simple route of buying clothing with glow in the dark patterns or figures on for your children. This will make them sand out distinctively in crowds, and with no more fuss than the usual dressing for a night outside.
There's no reason not to bring that special glow inside. There are a whole range of night lights available which use the same eco-friendly technology, and are great for little ones who might still be a little afraid of the dark. Some of these night lights change colour, for extra fun; some combine alarm clocks with glow in the dark night lights; and some come in the shapes of kids' favourite characters. All glow in the dark night lights help children to feel safe and secure at night. And it doesn't stop at conventional night lights: why not get your child some glow in the dark stars? These can be stuck to the ceiling, replicating the real night sky for a natural, soothing form of night light - or one suitable for budding astrological geniuses!
So if you love glow in the dark necklaces and glow in the dark bracelets, it's easy to accessorise your child's life with the same technology. Glow in the dark technology means fun for all the family!

Starring: Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sarah Gadon, Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, Tom Felton, Penelope Wilton, Sam Reid, Matthew Goode

Issues of race seems to be on film, at least in fashion this season. Back in 2012, Daniel Day Lewis managed personally slavery of the 19th century in the United States with his winning performance an Oscar in Lincoln. Later, in 2013, the white fighter ultimate freedom was relieved of his duties, usurped by Chiwetel Ejiofor and distribution of 12, a slave betrayed with a rod of a black man from the upper class in the history of slavery. This year, for the British, with Belle Amma Asante:   the story of the triumph of a beautiful black and increases in the upper echelons of Georgian society, only to find that the color is heavier than blood ties slum woman saved.

With a large number of British, old and new talent - including Tom Wilkinson, Penelope Wilton, Tom Felton and, of course, Gugu Mbatha-Raw - Belle the type quintessential upper starched period drama class fans Jane Austen is able to flow. Unfortunately for its stars, the scenario writer Misan Sagay is a classic masterpiece. Some scenes are too flowery dialogue in which all the senses or emotion is unfortunately lost drowning, while others suffer from a distinct lack of subtlety that your points are hit repeatedly on the head, maybe if you fall asleep during the bombastic rhetoric over- lenient.

Sagay said to his screenplay for painting real Dido Elizabeth Belle Lindsay, where Dido, niece of a black Earl is seen in his eyes the same on the basis of white cousin, Elizabeth 18 Century. It was a feat almost unheard of in a time when most of the problems in black and white art, people watching their humble position. Although most of the script is still being produced, endures the subject of art and at the same time really emotional film and Dido (Mbatha-Raw) and her lover, the budding relationship of John Divinier scenes.

Beautiful [more]

Newcomer Sam Reid delivers strong performance as a student of law, while Mbatha-Raw Divinier depends on its ability to produce a long, meaningful look. Tom Wilkinson and Penelope Wilton lights (as they are prone to do) Dido uncle, Lord Mansfield and intelligent daughter, Aunt Mary. Harry Potter star Tom Felton is still considered to whine bites the big screen labeled, but this time as racist Malfoy, along with a bad wig and less stick.

, However, the undisputed star of the show remain uncredited entirely - despite giving the largest and hypnotic performance - are those of Dido and Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) s' breast lift. His facial expressions bloom in white, and the legal cases that actually contributed to the abolition of slavery in the UK? All but forgotten. Maybe if you have less time to focus on their differences and other aspects have been improved, then this would have packed more of an emotional impact.

While Belle is sweeping the British director Oscar Asante competitors can be expected, the trailer it out to be, despite its flaws. So take the plunge and dive into the races Couture Corset this year, if that's your thing, you will probably not be disappointed.

In the minds of the characters as they mocked and manipulated by the mirror, slowly corrupts similar strength in the ring in The Lord of the Rings, or the painting of Vigo the Carpathian in Ghostbusters 2

While Oculus has two different stories - Tim and Kaylie tragic childhood and his current situation - the director Mike Flanagan (whose last feature uprising was launched with great success) maintains clarity on procedures and controls for a firm hand. With parallels and connections between the scenes of the elegant cut from one period to another, Flanagan (who also serves as editor in this film) advises Tim and Kaylie past and as the mirror begins to exert harmful influence barriers between past, present, memory and illusion begin to crumble.

Hiya

Help this feeling of alienation and discomfort is wonderfully creepy score for Newton Brothers. The use of a strange combination of synths and sounds, such as broken glass or metal scraping, the music beats and pulses. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, builds until suddenly silent apostasy music. Since the film as a whole, is the score, in the ebb and flow that wrongfooting many to be the mirror makes its victims.

Compared to most modern horror films, Oculus is a bit slower and more conscious and better. Cleverly put, this film has time to set the mood and scene content to chip away at his audience with smaller, more alert to squirm induction.

Hyena "- 2014 Edinburgh Festival opening gala reviews

Gerard Johnson
Starring: Peter Ferdinando, Stephen Graham, Neil Maskell
112 minutes: Duration

Your mother always warned drugs were bad, but the director Gerard Johnson hyena has reached epidemic proportions. London 2014 and the drug is not only an internal process; Bands from all over Europe, to expand their empires and are not the type of people who share. Coca-Cola, and draining the blood from flowing freely through the city streets and shoes matter Metropolitan Police is more than a little dirty.

Hyena is a macabre tale of drugs, sex and murder - as the movie ticket -. Everything has a price Favorites' Up Peter Ferdinando is Michael Logan, the corrupt policeman who is in the awkward position right in the center of the drug trade, as it begins. With a plug in the pocket, coke in your nose and your boss behind his neck, to think that you have lost in a repeat tests Filth John Baird S, may be mistaken - but only briefly. For better or film is to show the British police in a particularly flattering light, Hyena Johnson is a pretty abomination.

While creative thinking behind the two main sources of foreign groups (Turks and Albanians) Drugs film can for debate, unbearable stereotypical manner, is presented below is, frankly, inexcusable. Yes, they are drug traffickers who sometimes get in the sale and prostitution of women at risk, but why exactly do they always have to do your country flag or traditional dance? Hyena could almost see ignorance that ethnicity acts of illegality and violence equates - regarded as useful propaganda to fire some UK political parties in this regard.

Hyena S [to]

A similar unpleasant note, the portrayal of women in the hyena is, in short, obnoxious. They are helpless victims, toys, goods or accessories juices, their background stories not more explanation beyond revolves around male drivers have. In what is almost certainly the most controversial movie scene to be, is a victim of rape - and quite frankly voyeuristic graphic details for the progression of action is necessary.

Despite a convincing voice too ambitious Ferdinando Logan, hyena itself seems determined to remain a wannabe film. Too many good filmmakers (Abel Ferrara and William Friedkin, to name only two) already even made the presentation of police corruption, a look in. revel in his own About get developed, struck with fists and screaming hyena strong - more misogynistic and hateful - vitriolic to attract our attention. Do yourself a favor: Keep your head down, clean hands, and forwards it.

Display:   Thursday, June 26 / / 22:30 @ Filmhouse
Address: Billy O'Brien
Starring: John Lynch, Morjana Alaoui, Craig Conway, Beth Winslet
Time: 94 minutes

At a time when there are so many ways thriving art cinema has never call a larger palace, the director. Scintilla Billy O'Brien has clearly been influenced by a number of sources and especially video games, but that, stop saying everything what. near to a coherent story

Powell John Lynch leads a group of mercenaries on an unnamed former Soviet republic, where your mission is to infiltrate a military base to recover the secrets that lie within. After underground, they discover a scientist conducted experiments splicing human and alien DNA to create a race of mutant creatures. This is exactly why it all happened never fully explained; as the story along flashlights constantly calls us to respond to the growing number of questions, but halfway, you've already lost interest.

O'Brien stole ideas from popular video games like Bioshock, The Last Of Us and Half-Life, but nothing Scintilla cleverly constructed satire, action and emotional heart. Also, of course, reminiscent of Vincenzo Natali Splice, but forgotten, a core theme to hang on the commitment of its history. The central cast are too bad, but you can forgive the script they have to work, is pretty useless. Occasional flashes occur competence here and there; there are some nice pictures and one or two atmospheric moments, but it is more than likely that all goodwill will be tested vigorously. A one to avoid for some.

Director: Craig Johnson
Starring: Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Ty Burrell, Luke Wilson
88 minutes duration

The right balance between comedy and drama, a knife away from flirting with disaster, especially when the topic of depression and suicide. American independent director Craig Johnson, fortunately, good talent on his side for his third film The Skeleton Twins, some savvy casting and a script of mind makes it a pleasure for the unexpected public.

After Milo (Hader) has attempted suicide, her twin sister Maggie (Wiig) invites him to stay at home with her husband Lance (Wilson). Over time it is on the basis it is clear that Maggie is also a victim of a similar attack, but after ten years he alienated, feel free to mutually open. But as brothers, they begin to discover the comfort of their shared past and their relationship begins to slowly heal as they find solace in each other's company.

With echoes of the 2012 Oscar-nominated Silver Linings Playbook, Johnson succeeds certainly problems more mental health experts. There is a subtlety here that, as entertaining as it was friendly, the Playbook might be a little lacking. This is mainly due to the fantastic performances, especially Hader and Wiig, whose hit comedy chops to serve them well (they have great chemistry), but are also better able to deal with the drama. Hader in particular shines as a slightly manic gay brother who constantly judge others, but are reluctant to be seen whether judge. Heartbreaking and hilarious, poignant and inspiring; Twins skeleton is sure to be a highlight of the festival to be. If you are not able to catch up this weekend, then you certainly need when general release to see.

Edinburgh Festival 2014 Review - 'Joe'

Director: David Gordon Green
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Tye Sheridan, Ronnie Gene Blevins, Gary Poulter
117 minutes: Duration

Director David Gordon Green was back to his indie roots. Known for films and fraternity silly stoner Pineapple Express and as the years Sitter, Prince Avalanche last year proved to be an intelligent comedy drama. Now even more comedy away by t 1991 adaptation of the novel by Larry Joe Brown; a dark history of southern parent and child.

Joe (Nicolas Cage) is a former inmate who leads a lonely little forest enterprise. After Gary teenager (Tye Sheridan) has him looking for work, Joe finds himself acting as a surrogate father and mentor, and his boss. More about the life and family of Gary, in particular violent alcoholic stepfather as Joe finds himself unable to not intervene, although the effects revealed.

These stories of poor rural rural America has become common, and were held in varying degrees of success. Bones and mud of winter are two excellent examples of sub-genres, and while Joe everything, what not to do, in fact, to one of these tracks is always still much to admire. No less important is performance; Cage is unusually sober and are more measured and influence throughout the year. Sheridan also stands out here, as it has done in the mud above, and the first player Gary Poulter is excellent as his alcoholic father (unfortunately also died during post-production).

Issues of masculinity and the possible transfer of power that goes with care of parental relationships treated, but it feels a little overloaded at times. Some of the undesirable elements of certain characters are exaggerated caricatures, and often the story lines feel a little forced and nose. This recognition is not too much of what is usually to take a sober and blatantly dark piece.

"Coherence" - Edinburgh Festival 2014 Review

View: 25 June - 20.40 clock @ Cineworld Fountain Park / / Saturday, June 28th - 22.50 clock @ Filmhouse 1
Directed by James Ward Byrkit
Starring: Emily Baldoni, Maury Sterling, Nicholas Brendon
89 minutes: Duration

Dinner: a staple of the cinematic offering. A group of wealthy, well-read 30-year-olds sitting around a table beautifully set dining room, wine thirst and warm up their personal dramas. It is a scene almost every viewer knows and to be honest, it's more of a cliché. Therefore, the best way to mix things up as the host of the dinner said the same night that a rare comet, a power and a short mix of alternate realities?

If a comet lights up the sky over the more mundane and Mike Lee, start dinner, strange things happen. Pretty good, but the consistency of James Ward Byrkit loses his shit - at least not immediately. With phone lines and lights, approach the group only candles and find the nearest bottle opener. It is only when they leave the house, take things take a turn for the worse.

It is a rare filmmaker who can focus his film properly (death / cat in an unopened carton) succinctly with a single line and on the premise of a theoretical dilemma like Schrödinger's cat, but this is exactly what Byrkit succeeded consistency. gently set the script to the latest fantasy roles (Nicholas Brendon Buffy the Vampire Slayer "star to cultivate in the face" in fact at the time), Byrkit managed land is also a confusing matter. While there is little in the way of blood type modern horror consistency remains scary because BANG on the window can, in fact, come from a much more nightmarish Scarecrow and psychopaths traditional source of yesterday.

"The more familiar, ordinary behavior towards other groups - that is so irritating first works in the chaos after the construction of paranoia and tension to a credible state while blurring the unobtrusive camera work can sometimes makes you feel bad, this is a small price. for the exploration of what is a fascinating and disturbing object to pay. Unlike other movie this year is the hike enable consistency in the film, scratches his head and flashes in daylight with a sense of unease quiet film of opportunity, it definitely quickly many visits and subsequent reflections - have, but do not expect that all of your head hurt when you try to gain any kind of consistency..

Edinburgh Festival 2014 Review - Life by Beth

Posted: Wed June 26th - 18.20 clock @ Cineworld Fountain Park / / Friday, June 27 - 20:30 @ Filmhouse 1
Director: Jeff Baena
Starring: Dane DeHaan, Aubrey Plaza, John C. Reilly, Anna Kendrick, Cheryl Hines, Paul Reiser
Time: 91 minutes

The zombie film is a well-worn formula and no exaggeration to say that the market is a bit saturated late. Director Jeff Baena first made a name before the co-author David O Russell screwball comedy I Heart Huckabees, and hopes for his own brand of humor into the subgenre of horror bring now.

The story begins after the recently deceased Bet (square), which is part of a deadly snake bite while hiking nearby. My friend Zach (DeHaan) is struggling to cope with frequent visits to see her father (Reilly) acts as a therapy of sorts. However, the period of mourning is even more chaotic when Beth comes back to the family home, as if nothing would happen, and his enthusiasm for his return soon turns sour when gradually it becomes clear that he is dead - live.

It is clear from the outset that this is the first film Baena, unfortunately; Direction is neglected and should be fun gags fall flat as a result. The script itself is sufficient to induce some spiritual laughter, but where such hit films as zom-com Shaun of the Dead had an effective social commentary, your mood, feels Beth more like a series of successes and failures sequences with little depth. There are some good performances on display here: DeHaan Reilly and rise above the mismanagement and bring laughs more regularly, but others struggle to get a proper understanding of the material.

Some people get a kick out of life to Bet offbeat sense of humor, but for most it is a bit of a mess aimlessly. This is perhaps the overexposure of the zombie finally starting to run out, and begs the question, how ironic life is in this formula undead left.

Jon Favreau - Indie favorite of the late 90s - has made much of the last decade of his directorial work in well but spent stifle creative successes as Zathura, Iron Man and Cowboys & Aliens now but to his roots, he returned on a budget. head, the story of many executives who when he opened a food truck quiet after years of working in an unimaginative but well-financed restaurant finds its mojo. See what I did there?

After a damning report by the food critics Food Michel Ramsey (Oliver Platt channel sounding name fool headmasterly and Peter O'Toole Ratatouille Anton Ego behavior) Director: Carl Casper suffers a crisis of confidence. Deeply affected by the catastrophic Reviews Carl tries to answer through social media, is an internet meme kick and go hurt accordingly. With a career that has been neglected your child to the fragments at the lowest found. It was at this time that his super friendly and understanding of his ex-wife (Vergara) and super friendly, and the first man helps it in a food truck to revive his passion for cooking again, and maybe connect worshiped with son.

The film, Carl passion for cooking with a first half that focuses obsessively on its working methods and creations. If you are looking in the foods that you never smell, taste, left alone, then this movie is might as well dance in the mouth; sometimes it is blown only one vote from an ad for Marks and Spencer. This is food porn at it's hardcore, and like all the porn that feels too long and its festishisation. Likewise, Favreau seems obsessed with Twitter and this is the power to communicate with people and to promote interest. It can be a bit much, especially if the tweets of the people on the screen before flying as a small logo of Twitter.

There are a whole lot Tweetin 'Goin' On.
There are a whole lot Tweetin 'Goin' On.

However, as the head starts to move away from head (biness) eating and social networks and the people and singing, a great story and well observed reconnect father and son begins to emerge to move. Eleven years Emjay Anthony is a great actor and son of Carl Percy, a pious child, but often disappointed by his father. It is a brilliant performance with the naturalist Anthony never as an early or wise beyond his years. Small moments look like embarrassing funny when his father began to sing, or how pressed to really give your character a recognizable sense of reality.

Favreau can really rock a Bandana
Emjay Anthony is too polite to mention the headscarf

Favreau, a big friendly bear of a man with a wink and a simple charm, is a wonderfully friendly presence on the screen. As a writer, director and star Favreau warmth and charisma permeates almost every aspect of the head, which means that in spite of his almost evangelical presentation of Twitter and the absence of any actual conflict of interest remains a captivating clock. As a bed for a tuxedo, the head is light, but very tasty, if a little nutritional value Crowdpleaser.
